OOTD Feat. Cheap Monday Dress

Hot, Cold, Hot, Cold..WEATHER!!!

I feel like I'm starting all my posts with the temperature it currently has in Vienna, but on the other hand that's an important fact when it comes to clothing, isn't it?

Within the one year this dress has been in my possession, I have only worn it when on summer vacation, i.e. Egypt. This is mainly because it basically is a wrap around dress being only fixated around the bust area and nowhere else. Meaning if the wind is against you that day, chances for a Marilyn moment are quite high. Throwing on a Maxidress because you don't want to shave your legs is not gonna happen with this one! It has a baggy cut, so a belt comes in handy.

OOTD Feat. Purple Fall Dress

It's (finally?) getting colder again and I had my mind set to find dresses of thicker material that I could wear with my new Mango Boots. With tights for winter or without for now.

Yaay for online stores that you can browse through during the night and then try on the things at home with the items they are supposed to match. My favorite color is purple and yet I shockingly had to discover I didn't have a dress in this color. I got this one from Vero Moda. I think I already mentioned this, Vero Moda has sold me some pretty dresses this Summer and generally getting close up to Zara and Mango regarding pretty pieces.

The color of the dress matches my Balenciaga Cuff and I really like it with the boots. Some time ago I would have gone with black shoes here but hey, no need to be matchy matchy the whole time, right?

OOTD Feat. Asymmetrical Skirt

I bought this skirt at the beginning of spring..

Now that I feel it is getting colder again and never having worn the skirt, I thought it was about time to finally take it out.

This whole outfit was thrown together in 1 minute and only worn outside for an hour to go grocery shopping: I want something brown, here. Oh rose gold watch, that would fit. Which belt? This one looks good. Put on the first shoes that came across me, thank God they were black, and left.

All in all it is a bit beyond my comfort zone with

a) having to take care of the back of the skirt when sitting down or walking up stairs

b) the shirt being baggy as well and so adding at least 5kg

I do like it though, because it is something different, at least. A little bit, at least. For me, at least.

T by Alexander Wang Mesh Skirt

Finally I received my exchange from Net-a-porter...

I received my first order on Friday. Sent the skirt back in the evening to get a Medium insteda of a Small and saw that it arrived back in the UK on Saturday morning. They sent the new skirt out on Sunday and I got it today which is Wednesday making it 3 days. As oppposed to the return which only took half a day. Why? Why does NAP send the returns express but not the exchange? (Yes, I only paid for standard shipping which also happened so with my originial order. But if you have the return sent express, why not the exchange parcel? Anyone?)

So, "finally" I got my skirt. 5 days can be an eternity..

I got inspired by Mila Kunis' skirt she was wearing in 'friends with benefits'. It was a James Perse one,  which I think is a little more dressy, that's why I decided to go for Mr. Wang's edition being just a basic skirt for all occasions. In fact, I cannot believe how basic this item is. Wear it with flats or high heels, tuck the shirt in or leave it out, with tights and cardigan in winter, with blazer to the office. There are soo many options. And the quality is amazing. As with the muscle shirt, the material feels sooo soft! It is very comfortable to wear. It hugs the legs, but isn't too tight to walk. With the bigger size there is no "riding up" when walking either. Thus I would recommend sizing up!

I especially like the draping in the front. But I also have to say that I have yet to see someone wearing that skirt with the backside looking good. So either you leave the shirt out at all time or you embrace the fact that every behind looks out of shape in that skirt, even the ones from the  models on NAP. That might be another reason to go for the bigger size!

Couldn't decide between white and black...

Österreichische Glossybox August 2012 (Austrian Glossybox August 2012)

Today I received the Glossybox for August..
After last month's box being filled with ONLY great things like a Clinique eyecream, my expectations were pretty high I must say. The first impression wasn't that good. But the second was.

She is pink..

What I noticed about this box is that the products included differ a lot from box to box. Not only the individual products themself but also the pricepoint. Some GBs contained an eyecream by LaPrairie worth 270€ for the full size item making the sample alone worth more than some other boxes in their entirety.

Regarding the second impression mentioned above: At first I was a bit disappointed, I thought the Clarins product was just a toner and why do I need another perfume? But the "toner" turned out to be a spray serum and the perfume came in a very cute miniature bottle. Furthermore there is a Maria Galland shimmery body oil with SPF 10 and a footcreme by Alessandro. All in all these 4 products are really something new to me, and I think I can use them very well, fullfilling the whole purpose of the Glossybox idea which is exactly this: trying out new products! :)
The 5th product was a nail polish, but I think someone already used it. Or did another bottle explode on mine? I don't know..

Clarins Bi-Sérum Intensif 15ml,
full size product: 49,50€ for 30ml
Guerlain "La Petite Robe Noir" EdP 5ml,
full size product: 55€ for 30ml

Maria Galland Huile Lumineuse, full size product: 35€ for 50 ml
Alessandro Pedix Feet 30ml,
full size product: 14,95€ for 100ml

Marionnaud Nail polish, full size product: 4,90 for 5ml

I am satisfied with this box. Some many people talked about the mascara they got (although there was one in the July box..), which I wouldn't have mind receiving as well. I'd rather take a mascara every month than a nailpolish.. ;)

What did you get?
xx

PS: If you would like to exchange the perfume for the mascara, let me know :)

New In: Mango's Isabel Marant Dicker Boots

These boots are again some thing I have been lusting for since they came up a couple of years ago..

The Isabel Marant Dicker Boots, price point what? 360€? Exactly why I have never gotten around buying them. Until now. Well, or so..

I think Mango realized that Zara was taking all their customers offering such great pieces last season and decided to fight against it. Really, I could just buy the whole Mango store at the moment. Even the sales persons have become friendly! Zara, watch out!

So here are the Dicker boots inspired Mango leather boots. Size 41. Thanks for fitting! (And for only being 60€)

OOTD Feat. Rose Gold Astrid & Miyu Butterfly Ring

By the time you read the title of this blog, you will most definitely know my favorite kind of animal...
I used to buy just everything with butterflies on it, and it might have happened once or twice that I even got something as gift with said animal on it as well. In the meantime I have gotten quite picky when I comes to items with the bflies on it and I only buy the ones I really love. So it happened that I came across the most beautiful and shiny butterfly ring I think I had ever seen before. I found it on the website of Astrid & Miyu. It is not pricey at all and it came to me within 2 or 3 business days. I must say it is only rose gold plated but so far I have not had any issue with the color fading whatsoever. The butterflies are formed out of Swarovski crystals and the ring itself is not completely closed so the size can be adjusted by pulling the sides apart or pushing them together again.

It is quite a big ring, and definitely makes a statement. The shiny rosegold had me convinced at the first glance. I think this ring is nothing you would find at ordinary stores and the fact that not everyone will have it makes it even more special.

I paired the ring with my rosegold studded Balenciaga and a summery dress.

OOTD Feat. T by Alexander Wang Muscle Shirt

Yes, if you spend a little more, you will feel the difference!

Lately, I have been on the fence... Do I want to buy less, but spend more one the individual item, meaning they (hopefully) will last me longer. Or, not? I decided to give it a try with the T by Alexander Wang line. Along with Helmut Lang, Mr. Wang is the one designer I am currently a bit obsessed with. Not purchasing-wise, just drooling-wise. I love the clean cut basics with a little twits. I especially like the asymmetrical Helmut Lang pieces. He is Austrian as well, so I feel I have to support him..I will, just not now. Now is about Alexander Wang. I got the muscle shirt in purple - I can get the white or black one anytime, but purple seems to be seasonal..? I also got the infamous skirt, but I had to send it back for an exchange. Although I got both pieces in S, the skirt was a little too tight for my likinig. It seemed to ride up when I was walking around, so back it goes and I hope the M does not do that.

So for the shirt..

OMG!!! It feels soooo soft. It is longer than other ordinary basics and runs quite baggy. I don't know if the cut will suit everyone, but I so didn't care when I realized how soft and luxurious it felt.

I will have to evaluate over time, if I would recommend these kind of shirts though. One downside is that it is handwash only. Why? Do I really want to pay that much and then have to wash it by hand? The second thing is that I was soo careful today when wearing it. Making sure my bag doesnt scuff the shirt, that noone ruins it by standing too close - You with the ICE CREAM, go away!! , taking it off extra carefully...I don't know. I am glad I got it since I loove love love the color and feeling on me, but I am not yet sure if I need more in my live. I cannot wait until the skirt arrives again and I can wear the shirt with it.

Now, do I need a Rocco to make that look even more perfect..Need to think about that... :)
